New Sermon Series
Have you ever had people ask you what it means to be a United Methodist? This is not a new question. Back when the term was first coming out in the 1700s, our founder, John Wesley, got questions about it himself.
Wesley answered that question in an essay you could find here:
https://pages.uoregon.edu/sshoemak/323/texts/Wesley%20Character.htm
Trying to unpack that meaning for the 21st century after a denominational divide between 1972 and 2023, our Council of Bishops created a vision statement in May of 2025 based on that essay. The statement says United Methodists love boldly, serve joyfully, and lead courageously. From now through Aug. 16, your pastors will unpack that statement in a worship series titled: “United Methodist Transformers: More than Meets the Eye.” Please join us each week as we learn a little more about what it means to be United Methodist today.
Update on Reverse Rummage Sale
Tim Reilly from Knollwood Heights UMC shared that the total rummage collections from the churches in the area filled a 15-foot box truck from Tree of Life TWICE! Two trips were made to bring all the items to Tree of Life!
Hopefully the items gathered will prove to be a blessing for Tree of Life Ministry.
A huge THANK YOU to everyone who donated and helped to load the truck.
Camp at Storm Mountain
Please be in prayer this week about our campers at Storm Mountain. There will be campers ranging from early elementary to high-school seniors. Prayers that they have a wonderful time in God's creation in fellowship together. We pray that they may be strengthened spiritually and have a blast! The temperature is supposed to be over 100 degrees for the majority of the week, so we pray for everyone to stay safe and hydrated.
We have several youth attending camp, and Hannah O'Donnell will be co-leading the high school camp "On Solid Ground." Hannah's 17 month old, Liam, will be there to help too!
If you have not been out to Storm Mountain, you should go check it out sometime!
